Thank you for stopping by our website! Flathead Youth Aviation (FYA) is a Non-Profit 501c(3) organization with our primary function being to educate our youth that have a passion for aviation and are interested in pursuing a career in an aviation related field. If you like planes and helicopters or are just plain curious about aviation, then this program is for you!
Project aircraft are used in hands on experiential classes as a tool for fueling self confidence and creating young leaders. Eliminating the barriers (financial and otherwise) between our youth and aviation is one of our main goals. Flight Instruction is given in exchange for the efforts put forth by the young men and women, hopefully creating a few aviators along the way.
Another such goal is to teach the kids through aerospace science and aviation history with special attention to our WWII heritage. Our projects will support our desire to pay tribute to those who have given us our freedoms we enjoy so much today. To that point we will focus our energy on Antique/Classic aircraft and Warbird types.
With the General Aviation pilot population declining we feel it vital that programs such as this exist and be successful! Inspiring our youth that have a spark for aviation, and helping them discover all of the wonderful and varied careers that aviation has to offer is another primary goal. Teaching the kids win-win concepts and learning through contribution will also be integral to this program.
