We have Acquired our First Aircraft Kit!

Published on 03/25/09

Mr. David Thatcher, designer, builder and owner of the THATCHER CX4 aircraft and it’s plans has teamed with the FYAEF as our first ever kit aircraft sponsor. He has graciously donated a set of plans and will produce all of the items he supports for his kit plane and send them to us free of charge! This includes such items as the windshield and canopy, the engine mount, controls and many other items. Check our “links” page for his website. Also look for pics of the CX4 in our “Our Aircraft” page.

Mr. Peter Beck, the licensed manufacturer of pre-formed and pre-made THATCHER CX4 parts and components has also stepped in as a sponsor, donating a complete set of ribs, bulkheads and other parts he manufactures. He is also donating a complete center section spar and wing spar set and donating all the labor (which is quite extensive) for those. We will only pay the materials costs for the spars.

Dennis, the other officers, the young men and women and their parents wish to extend a HUGE Thank You to these two fine gentlemen. The Flathead Youth Aviation looks forward to working with Dave and Peter!
