Micah Hearn
My name is Micah Hearn, I am 16 years old and I love all things aviation! I first became interested in aviation in Redlands, CA when I was five years old and my family went to the Mission Aviation Fellowship base and learned the story of Nate Saint. Since then I have found many ways to get in touch with aviation. Flathead Youth Aviation has already given me important knowledge of how airplanes work and I expect to learn a whole lot more! When I achieve my pilot’s license I intend to fly missionaries to their destinations as well as run a guide service in Alaska.
Christopher Stahlberg
Hello, My name is Christopher Stahlberg. I am 16 years of age, and I am a sophomore in high school. I have wanted to become a pilot for many years.
I have had and interest in airplanes since a very young age. I loved going to the airports and watching airplanes, their jet engines roaring as they sped down the runway. It made my heart race to watch F-16’s engage enemy fighters in combat. However, I was never able to take a ride in a plane. About two years ago I joined the Civil Air Patrol with the intent of using my experiences there as a jumpstart to join the Air Force and become a fighter pilot. Soon after I joined I got the opportunity to fly in a small Cessna airplane with one of the Majors from CAP. I will never forget the thrill of soaring through the skies. That was the very first time I had ever flown in an airplane. Once the wheels of the Cessna left the ground, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. Whether it was an F-15 flying combat missions over Iraq speeding at Mach one, or a humble Cessna flying over Flathead Valley, I wanted to fly. Later, I got word that a man name Dennis Lacy was starting a club for kids that wanted to become pilots. In this club kids would get together and build a kit airplane, and for as many hours as you put into building it, you would get a certain amount of free pilot training hours. I am very excited to get this program going and getting my pilot’s license. A little while after I joined this club, I got to fly two more times. One was with CAP while the other was with the EAA’s Young Eagles Program. It had been over a year since I had las flown, so these flights reminded me of my yearning to become a pilot. After my first CAP Encampment, I felt that God was calling me away from the Air Force and towards the Ministry. I have been looking at the many ways Aviation might help in this calling, and I believe that I will use it s a tool to help spread the Gospel.

Jena Willis
My name is Jena Willis. My birthday is June 6th. I have one little brother named Alec. I go to Glacier High School. I absolutely adore the heat and warmth; I don’t care for the cold. I want to go to medical school and be a doctor for the military. I love to play sports, my favorites are softball and basketball; I also play a little volleyball and soccer. Reading and music are both a passion of mine along with hanging out with my family and friends. I have the ability of being a 4th generation pilot, flying is an amazing thing. I mean you get to be off the ground and almost feel free without having to worry about too much. That’s why I am so excited for this chance in this great program.
Nathan Hoff
My name is Nathan Hoff. I am excited to be a member of the Flathead Youth Aviation because it gives me the opportunity to learn more about what I want to do when I grow up and that is to be a Military Fighter Pilot. The Hoff family has a line of Military Personnel, some of whom are high ranking. I want to be the first Fighter Pilot in the Hoff family.
Flying has given me a great reason to do my best in school so I can have a greater chance of going into either the Naval or Air Force Academy or go to college on an R.O.T.C. program. Thanks to Mr. Lacy for starting the FYA. It gives me a greater chance to make my dreams of being a pilot come true.
