Program Needs
1) We have our first kit aircraft. We are in a permanent home/hangar at Glacier Park International Airport in Kalispell, MT. We will be in need of donations for the hangar lease as well as any mods we make to our shop space.
2) In the near future we will put out a list of tools, supplies, and other needed materials for your consideration in donating.
Please note that as a start up program we will be in need of tools such as a large air compressor, hoses, some air tools and so on. Mr. Lacy will loan the use of any/all of his construction and woodworking tools as well as any mechanics tools he has.
A few people have offered their time volunteering from giving ground instruction, flight lessons, and building/restoring assistance and we will publish their names in the near future as we obtain their individual permission to do so. We thank you all greatly and look forward to working with you all.
Of course we are still very much in need of a benefactor or donors and sponsors. Please contact Dennis Lacy for further information as to what you can do to help these kids fulfill their dreams!
Tools Needed!
(We would be happy to borrow, rent or buy your aviation tools)
1) Dremel tool snake extension. 2) Benchtop belt/disc combo sander. 3) Aviation tool set from Aircraft Spruce or another supply Co. including aviation snips (a set of 3), circle cutter, micro stop countersink, 2 ea+ sets of cleco pliers, K-3/32 and K-1/8 clecos, rivet spacing tool, pneumatic blind riveter (2ea), large heel dolly, air operated shears. 4) Hand pop rivet tool w/swivel head (2ea) 5) Various vice clamps and large and small adjustable clamps 6) Files w/handles for safety. 7) Rubber hammer, plastic head hammer 8) Medium to HD air compressor 9) Small drill press 10)Materials and hardware for the kit will be needed as well. Mr. Lacy has a compete list of items needed to complete project minus the parts being donated by Thatcher Aircraft, Inc.
Mr. Lacy has already aquired the work tables and other work area stations as well as a large tool box and tool set with wrenches and sockets. Again all of his woodworking tools etc will be available during the entire program when needed.
